An LCD module consists of several subassemblies, each of which will be considered separately.
- LCD glass = 50,000hr (5.7yr)
- LCD electronics = 100,000hr (12yr)
- EL back light = 5,000hr (7mo)
- CCFL back light = 15,000hr (20mo)
- Yellow-Green LED backlight = 100,000hr (12yr)
These are typical life expectancy figures, which assume that the components are operated with their specified limits.
The lifetime figures for the EL and the CCFL devices are based on the light output reaching 50% of new value. |
